In the Indian Football scene it is a word synonymous with Silverware.Dempo Sports Club assumed its name in the year 1967, with the generous support from the Dempo Group and the then Chairman and Founder of the club, Mr. Vasantrao Dempo, whose message was always resonated within the club ever since : Only winning mattered to the club.Half a century since its formation in 1967, the club has gone on to amass a huge number of trophies- Including 5 National League titles, a record that is yet to be broken to this day.Off the pitch, under the tutelage of Club President Mr. Shrinivas v. Dempo, the team has gone from strength to strength, making it a dominant outfit on both, domestic and foreign soil, instilling a mind-set that would see the team dominate the National scene. On the Pitch its unique outlook on scouting and grooming talent has led to the team to dominate the selections in the National teams for years.Dempo's glorious history has always been linked back home to a variety of factors, but as a new era is well underway, it's future will now most definitely be linked to their State of the art Football Academy at Ella-Old Goa.With a mind-set to continue what our founding father instilled within the club with a vision on building an even bigger legacy, it's easy to see that Dempo Sports Club is not just about the past.
