The Mission of Denbigh United Presbyterian Church can be expressed in three important concepts that define who we are and where we are headed.We are a Worshipping community of believers.We believe in and worship the triune God, whose presence with us is expressed in the life and teachings and the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus the Christ. Because of what Jesus would have us do as revealed in scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit, we welcome all in our community to join us in our mission. We seek spiritual growth through worship, music, prayer, Church School, Bible study, fellowship, and the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. We seek to encourage the active involvement of our current, former, and younger members.We are a Witnessing community of believers.We believe God calls us to witness to His grace and redemption in both word and deed. We witness to our community, both individually and collectively, with other churches and organizations. This witness includes sharing our facilities, food, clothing, talents, and resources. We seek a long-range vision to truly meet the needs of all God's people. Witnessing to the faith also requires knowing what we believe and continuously learning and growing. We feel a strong Church School program is essential in fulfilling this need.We are a Nurturing community of believers.We believe that Christ is Head of the Church and seek to grow and nurture all people in the Christian faith. We believe shared, strong leadership strengthens us both as an individual and as fellow Christians; therefore, we endeavor to involve all members in the life and work of the church. We seek to make all feel welcome and important in the life of the church through a strong fellowship program that brings everyone together for shared experiences and that reflects a compassionate concern for one another.We are committed to service beyond our local congregation and our local community as we support and participate in the ministries of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic, and the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia.
