Nonprofit Organization Management - Delft, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands
Dendrobatidae Nederland is a leading association of poison frog enthusiasts and serious about saving tropical frog species. With a dedicated team of volunteers we promote the appreciation of nature and bring about its conservation. We achieve this by supporting the captive breeding of frogs in The Netherlands and simultaneously reinforcing the protection of frogs in their natural biotopes. Our association serves over 1200 enthusiastic, expert, and academic members in the Netherlands and abroad. An essential aspect of our work is the spreading of information related to the tending and breeding of Dendrobatidae and other tropical frogs among as wide an audience as possible. Our main emphasis is on the rainforests of Middle and South America and Madagascar, and on the (poison) frogs inhabiting these regions in particular. Our nature conservation projects involve a strong cooperation with local NGOs and a core understanding of socio-ecological contexts. This is needed to challenge the complexity of environmental degradation, often caused by multiple drivers and involving a diverse set of stakeholders. To ensure strong wildlife protection schemes Dendrobatidae Nederland maintains close contacts with various national and international organisations, independent researchers, universities, and the IUCN. Additionally, our member contributions provide direct financial support to the ProAves Amphibian Nature Reserve Ranita Dorado in Colombia and several other beneficiaries.
