Denham Chambers was the first Barrister's Chambers established in Townsville and is one of the leading Barristers' Chambers in North Queensland. Each Barrister is a sole practitioner, conducting individual practice as a specialist advocate and provider of advice and other legal services.The Members of Denham Chambers practise in all Courts and Tribunals and in most areas of law, although they practise particularly in Commercial Law, Personal Injury (work, motor vehicle and public liability), Company Law, Contract Law, Family Law, Domestic Violence and Estate Litigation. Our Barristers have the expertise and experience to appear in and advise on a wide range of matters in a manner that is both results driven and cost-effective. In most cases the members of Denham Chambers attempt to provide fixed fees for matters they undertake. Our Chambers also recognises the importance of alternative dispute resolution, particularly mediation and practise regularly in this area. The members of Denham Chambers also provide pro bono legal services for organisations such as QPILCH and the Townsville Community Legal Service.Denham Chambers was named in honour of former Governor-General of Australia, Lord Thomas Denham (1874-1954) and operates from premises where members of the Townsville legal fraternity have practised since 1901.
