The Department of Management aims to promote, through high-quality teaching and research based on an interdisciplinary approach, study in the fields of business administration (accounting, auditing, marketing, management, organisation, banking and finance), law, maths and some streams of economics (agent-based theory and complex models). The common research and teaching interests of the scholars of the Department of Management are business organisations (private, public or no profit), financial and non-financial markets and the regulation of firms and markets. Such amplitude of scientific fields and competences has triggered the development of scientific collaborations with several Italian and foreign universities and the construction of several interdisciplinary research groups whose members face real-world problems from different & novel viewpoints. Also, students can benefit from innovative teaching methods, and they have the chance of discussing with top managers and consultants and of analysing real case studies in the different research fields.Since its foundation, the Department has also developed numerous applied research projects with firms and governmental institutions in which the scholars of the Department have offered their highly specialised competencies to solve relevant and practical problems in order to contribute to the cultural and economic development of the community. In 2017 the Department of Management had gained the "Excellence award" promoted by the Anvur (Italian Agency for Research Evaluation) with reference to the research and teaching activities carried out.
