The Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Jodhpur primarily focuses on imparting quality education and preparing students to face the future technological challenges in the field of Mechanical engineering. The vision of the Department is to enhance the research environment and to innovate in pedagogy to address the challenges of socio-economic and human resource development. The Department is committed to high-quality research by Faculty Members and Students in the pursuit of excellence in academics.The department offers M. Tech. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering within three major domains of Thermofluids, Design and Smart Manufacturing. The students also have the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary specialization in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data and Computational Science, Smart Healthcare, Energy Materials and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS).
