A world class education, research and development center established in 1977, as the Ocean Engineering Centre (OEC), with the objective of creating multi-faceted engineers who are well equipped to meet and exceed the demands of the rapidly growing ship and offshore industry.We develop education and training programs in the field of OceanEngineering, create infrastructure and expertise for R&D inOcean Engineering and related fields, with direct relevance in thenational context and support creation of educational and research opportunities at all academic levels. The admission procedure for the various programmes ensures that the best of students make it to the campus. The admission to various programmes is carried out through the following highly competitivenational level examinations. (a) JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) for admission into UG programmes (b)GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) for admission into PG programmes
