Desert Microalgae is a KAUST Taqadam start-up accelerator winner. We aim to produce high-quality, valuable biomolecules and biomass from microalgae through our uniquely integrated sustainable cultivation, monitoring and harvesting technologies. In partnership with desalination and power or industrial plants, Desert Microalgae technology exploits unused resources such as high salinity brine and flue gasses to sustainably grow microalgae in the desert. We aim to establish a bio-refinery that produces animal feed, nutraceuticals, natural colorants, and additional value added products from microalgae, and supply Middle Eastern and international markets with algae-derived products. Depending on the algal strain employed, different products can be manufactured, allowing us to tailor our product line, and serve multiple market segments.
