Vision - Celebrating the desert land, life, living – its innate potential.Mission - Through knowledge, resources, partnerships, and technologies constantly working with desert land, life, and living to facilitate a sustainable, environmentally positive and inspiring change.Desert Resource Centre (DRC) is a participatory initiative currently working in the cold and hot deserts of India on multiple land, life and living issues. Our work ranges from promoting sustainable enterprises to knowledge platforms, and collaborating with desert grassroot organisations towards forward looking impact solutions and services - common goals. Through grassroots efforts and an open source approach we inspire and facilitate a cadre of passionate change makers to approach critical environmental & social action with innovation. While evolving ourselves from a collective to community, We're working on pastoralism, crafts, agro-ecology, energy and micro-entrepreneurship. Innovative initiatives include ecosystem for a natural dyeing enterprise, camel and goat milk value chains, and common property resources improvement towards a holistic pasture land development programme model. DRC aims at learning from deserts - the communities, and the land, aggregate the knowledge and integrate this understanding with the challenges and opportunities that wait for us in the next 20 years.
