The Designhuis is a cultural centre that connects people & ideas towards a better world, empowering a more participative society driven by design thinking. In October 2007, The Designhuis opened its doors for the public for the first time in October 2007, led by Lidewij Edelkoort (2007-2009), and later on Leonne Cuppen (2010) and Het Nieuwe Instituut (2011-2014). With a portfolio of activities and exhibitions of world class, this institute became a platform and meeting spot for Design and innovation, and where Design is connected to Art and Technology. Since then, the Designhuis presented, among others: _"Bold" by Studio Job (2007) _"Family of Form, 60 years Design Academy Eindhoven" (2008) "Form and volume, Design as Strategy" (2009) "Archeologie van de toekomst" (2009) "Liberation of Light" (2010) "Spring: Excellence, Talent and Inspiration in Design" (2011) "Connecting concepts" (2012) "Food Culture: Eating by Design" (2012) "Designing Health" (2013) After a period of closure for restructuring and rethinking the public function of the building, the Designhuis is now being reactivated with a community-driven programming team and strategy. It will open its doors in a permanent basis on the last quartile of 2015, led by Jorge Alves Lino and Remco van de Craats.
