Determined2 is a unique company offering better health through positive experiences, we currently offer Immersion Therapy which can used by anyone looking for a positive experience, as we grow we look to develop other exciting experiences and always remain a totally inclusive companyHi my name is Peter Wilson and I am really excited to introduce you to the Controlled Scuba Experience We started in October 2015 and conducted trials with Ben Everson a 21-year-old who has a c4-c5 complete spinal cord injury and while working with him developed the Immersion Therapy program.While the Controlled Scuba Experience isn't necessarily specific to people with disabilities the Immersion Therapy program was developed to allow special consideration towards those who may not necessarily meet existing restrictions that would exclude them from the activity.In 2007 I was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident leaving me fighting for my life, I have since been left with a 47% total body impairment after a long recovery period I got involved in recreational scuba diving not knowing just how much it would help with my longer term recovery I have gone on to complete many qualifications and currently hold a master scuba diver certification.From this personal experience I considered how I could introduce everyone and anyone to a similar experience focused more around the therapeutic benefits of being weightless rather than recreation and open water diving, I quickly learnt that many people would be very keen to feel the effects of weightlessness and freedom of movement.Since our first trials we have now held multiple sessions with people with a range of disabilities and being guided by Dr David Wilkinson director of Hyperbaric Medicine at the Royal Adelaide Hospital developed a specific medical check list relative to the Controlled Scuba Experience once completed this will be reviewed and a face to face assessment may be required.
