Mission: Rooted in teamwork, dedication, and commitment, Detroit is My Home aims to assist the local and global impoverished and homeless through transpiring acts of charity.Vision: To aid in the revitalization of the city of Detroit and surrounding cities through implementing sustainable programs and empowering those in need.Purpose:Detroit Is My Home's purpose is to identify, address, educate, coordinate, and provide aid/relief to the impoverished and homeless populations in a local and statewide capacity.Our hope as a non-profit organization is to start a movement. A movement where we inspire Detroit and Michigan pride among our supporters and those we support. We aspire to partner and team up with like-minded non-profits throughout the city of Detroit in order to better service those in need. Our short-term goals are to provide immediate relief by distributing material goods such as hot meals, clothing, and care packages that are comprised of necessary items requested by homeless shelter residents and residents stuck on the streets. Our long-term goals are to implement sustainable programs to include: educational assistance, vocational training, resume building, job assistance and a housing first program to get individuals off the streets and safe in their own homes. We employ social media channels and the organization's website to provide facts, statistics and other relevant data on causes, current efforts and solutions and resource referrals for services residents may need. We believe in providing relief and assistance to those all those struggling from poverty and hunger regardless of their race, ethnicity or religion.
