Philanthropy - Hyderabad, Telangana, India
Dhairya was founded to address the problem of skill deficit among urban poor women, and low participation of women from low-income groups in the workforce. Our training program is designed to teach women driving as a life skill, along with job specific skills like digital and financial literacy, stress management, soft skills, self-defense, etc.Our training program is followed by market linkage, where suitable employment opportunities are identified for our beneficiaries with ecommerce/logistics companies that we collaborate with. For those inclined to be self-employed, necessary support is extended to avail incentives or credit access to purchase vehicles and work as professional drivers. We also work with local communities, SHGs and NGOs to track and support the beneficiaries post-training to resolve any issues they may be facing in their jobs. We are end-to-end enablers for women who want to earn livelihood as professional drivers. Our training program is designed to develop managerial and entrepreneurial abilities in our beneficiaries. Our initiative not only skills women, but also ensures that they are absorbed into formal workforce, to ensure that the skills are converted into sustainable income generation in the long run assuring financial stability for them and their dependents.
