Digital Ink Drop is a not-for-profit company dedicated to developing children as readers and inspiring them as creative writers. The team behind Digital Ink Drop are passionate about books and reading and engendering a life long love of reading and words in children, young people and the adults who work with them and care for them. Our mission is to harness the power and adaptability of digital technologies to engage young people more fully with the written and spoken word as well as with the creators and producers of those words.We believe that all children have the ability to become creative wordsmiths. We believe this is possible by encouraging children to explore the world of words and story. We do this, in part, through the Wood of Words website, a magical place designed to get children to fall in love with reading and develop a love of creating their own stories and poems. The Wood of Words offers children, parents, librarians and teachers the chance to explore the wonderful world of children's books. With online books, book extracts, downloadable and online activities and individual galleries, the Wood of Words has been developed by librarians and teachers to develop a lifelong love of reading. www.woodofwords.org
