While the IoT industry segment has been several years in the making, most solutions exist in a siloed manner where solution vendors have focused device and device's communication with their application. IoT solution typically have device, connectivity and application with possibility of different combinations and policy constraints for a given deployment. The legacy IT systems solution for vendors and those of their distributors are rigid and cannot accommodate complexities of IoT solutions or configuration rules. Orders processed through legacy systems often lead to failed installation, unnecessary truck roll and/or poor customer experience. Moreover there is an untapped potential for IoT solutions lies in leveraging general purpose 3rd party services, which are neither marketed for IoT nor are adapted for easy integration with IoT solutions. Going up the supply chain, similar problem pattern repeats between solution vendor and their suppliers such as module or modem makers. While there has been industry push towards single SKU for global deployment, most of relationship is managed manually through legacy systems. Now at any segment of supply chain, if an off-the-shelf service is to be leveraged from a third party say where a bot that audits the supply transaction and communicates to all involved parties of progress or compliance, participants simply do not think of such possibilities. Worse, instead of leveraging already available service, they are forced into long and expensive custom IT development. Digitize Things' vision is to digitize the entire supply chain and make each segment transact efficiently and provide complete digital experience. Industry needs orchestration of tasks across different systems from different participants.
