Achonry is a Roman Catholic Diocese, situated in the West of Ireland and has twenty-three parishes. Eleven of these are in County Sligo, eleven in Co. Mayo and one, the Cathedral Parish, is in Co. Roscommon. The Patron saint of our Diocese is St. Nathy and our secondary Patroness is St. Attracta. The Cathedral, dedicated to The Annunciation and St. Nathy is in Ballaghaderreen and was built in the 1850's.
