The purpose of the Direct Parking App is to assist college students in finding a parking spot on campus in a shorter time than usual. Across many campuses, locating a parking spot is a common issue due to the disproportionate ratio of the number of parking spots to the total student population. This results in congested and overcrowded parking lots which increases the stress of students as they waste time and gas searching for an open spot.Direct Parking aims to give college students an efficient parking experience by allowing them to exchange rides for parking spots. Students on campus can request a ride to their parking spot on the app. Students who seek a parking spot can get on the app to accept a ride request made by a student who wants a ride to their car. This results in one student receiving a ride to their parking spot while the other secures a spot without having to drive around searching for one.
