DAISI is an award-winning community based, incorporated non-profit organisation grounded in Ballina, Northern NSW with a second office in Tweed. DAISI is funded by NSW Family and Community Services: Ageing, Disability & Home Care, NSW Health, and the Commonwealth HACC Program (Home and Community Care) and NSW Health.DAISI grew out of a ground swell of community members back in 1992 concerned about the lack of information and advice on supports and services for people with disabilities. Over time that role has expanded to include projects addressing the needs of people who are ageing, those from a culturally linguistic and non-English speaking background (CALD/NESB), primary carer grandparents caring for their grandchildren, disability family succession planning and working carers.
