DART is the first CERT-based organization of disaster first responders specializing in animal care and rescue. We train graduates of the FEMA sponsored Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) to set up and manage emergency animal shelters during disasters. When a disaster strikes a DART team will set up an emergency animal shelter in minutes and deploy as the Animal Rescue Branch of their local CERT. As Disaster Servie Workers we work under our local Emergency Operations Center. All our responders are fully FEMA certified.
