Dismas House is a beacon of hope and safe passage for men and women transitioning from jail or prison into society in Albuquerque, NM. We are dedicated to serving formerly incarcerated adults, and we see hope and potential for good in each of our residents.Our mission is to assist motivated adults on probation and parole to transition into society, Dismas House uses targeted best practice principles that help people develop behaviors and life-skills that promote self-sufficiency and eliminate recidivism. Our vision is to set the national example for the use of best practice programming to successfully transition all of our participants from the criminal justice system into community participation and self-sufficiency.We believe in second chances…Over the years, we have helped over 800 parolees to transition successfully into society, and have been able to expand our program with the generous help of the community and our partnership with New Mexico Corrections Department.Dismas House is a 90-day transitional living program for motivated adults on probation or parole. We provide a sober-living community where our residents learn to trust, communicate effectively, work together, and develop a respect for themselves and others that builds up and empowers our community.We provide case management, individual therapy, therapeutic and life-skills groups, and room and board with 24/7 on-site staff support and supervision. As a program of St. Martin's Hospitality Center, our residents also have direct access to additional services, such as ongoing behavioral health and substance abuse treatment, employment training, and job placement assistance.
