Green Spaces for DC was started in 2010 to provide fiscal sponsorship services (501(c)(3) charitable status, insurance, accounting, and web promotion) for grassroots organizations in the Washington DC area wanting to support parks and green spaces. Green Spaces for DC improves the quality of parks and open spaces through advocacy, fostering stewardship, developing and strengthening organizational capacity, and establishing partnerships and networks that share information and resources. Through fiscal sponsorship and organizational development services, we help those persons seeking to create, develop, fund, and otherwise support the provision of quality parks, gardens, and other green spaces.
