Divan International was founded in 1992 by Mr. Kamal Wajih Hijazi, one of Jordan's first exchange students in 1967. Kamal was part of a high school exchange program where he spent one year in Kenosha, Wisconsin in the United States. After his year of high school abroad, Kamal returned to Jordan and later returned to the United Stated to study at the University of San Jose in California where he completed his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering. Kamal's experiences as an exchange student at both the high school and university levels inspired him to start a company in the Middle East that would provide young Arab students with the same opportunity to experience the cultural exchange and learning experiences that had changed his life. The company's mission is to provider opportunities to students and the youths from the Arab world of education and training, through travel and cultural exchange, by partnering with international nonprofit organizations, accredited academic universities and institutions, Divan International assists students to gain knowledge and experience by offering specially designed programs which combine academic knowledge with "hands on" practical work experience. Divan International proudly believes that a solid education with practical experience and a good command of the English language equals success and employment in today's diverse world. At Divan International we believe that when excellence is required, experience counts.
