This project emerged from dear friendships which formed amongst a group of visiting undergraduate students at the University of Oxford in the fall of 2017. There, the beautiful collision between their intellectual pursuits and their embodied common life established a yearning for a re-creation, and a widening, of such a fruitful space. In the summer of 2019, four of these students, now graduated, inaugurated Divers Press and its various thought-promoting and community-building projects. In everything, we seek to imagine new and more brilliant ways in which public scholarship may contribute to the common good, and how we may pursue a more deeply considered, rigorously curious common life.
