Diya Ghar is a Bangalore-based non-profit organization catering to the needs of children from migrant communities engaged in construction work. At Diya Ghar we believe that every child deserves to experience the joy of learning. Our vision is to give children access to a stimulating and nurturing pre-school education. Our mission is to run Diya Ghar centers across the city of Bangalore and expand to other cities in India. Currently, we serve 60 children in Horamavu, Bangalore. Every day, we pick up the children from migrant settlements. After a good, healthy breakfast we teach Language and Math through the Montessori method. After a hearty lunch, we have free play time, along with music, rhymes and reading. The children are dropped in their settlements in the evening.
