Djibouti Telecom is today a leading strategic center for international telecommunications services in East Africa with its underlying network infrastructure comprising 7 international submarine cables, with direct connection to over 90 countries and 2 terrestrial cables. In order to enhance network resilience, the company has built two additional cable landing stations. This is the highest number of cable landing sites in Sub-Saharan Africa.DJIBOUTI AFRICA REGIONAL EXPRESSIn early 2015, Djibouti Telecom decided to build a new regional submarine cable system DARE1 (Djibouti Africa Regional Express1). Landing across 3 countries and 4 cities, the network will cover 5,000km and will have a capacity per wavelength of 100Gbps.
