For 20+ years, Doberman Rescue of North Texas has been placing purebred unwanted, neglected or abandoned Doberman Pinschers in loving forever homes. We are the largest Doberman Rescue in Texas with a network extending into Oregon and the upper Mid-West. We are a 100% volunteer-run and operated organization comprised of individuals with various facets of experience with Dobermans spanning decades, offering our adopters a wealth of information regarding the breed and an extended support network after adoption. Most of the Dobermans we rescue come from shelters in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding states. Each dog is checked by a vet, given all vaccinations, tested for heartworms(treated if necessary), spayed/neutered, treated for any illnesses or medical problems that are found, and micro-chipped. Without exception, all dogs are spayed/neutered. The dogs come to live at Doberhof, our private shelter in Grand Prairie. Doberhof accommodates up to 22 dogs in 11 air-conditioned and heated runs with comfortable beds and classical music. We have outdoor play yards where they exercise, sunbathe, chase squirrels and rabbits, and do other important canine activities. We have limited additional capacity for dogs in sick bay and foster homes. When a suitable adopter makes the right choice, each dog is adopted to what we hope is a forever home. Puppies thru mature are normally available. We hold a weekly Open House on most Sundays from 10a-2p, rain or shine!
