Domaine Franco-Chinois was established in Hebei Province in 1999 as a cooperative project between the governments of China and France, following an agreement between Mr. Wen Jiabao, then Vice-Premier of China, and Mr. Jacques Chirac, then President of France. Also known as the Sino-French Demonstration Vineyard, Domaine Franco-Chinois has been a showcase for bilateral cooperation in agriculture.Covering an estate of over 80 acres (33 hectares), Domaine Franco-Chinois brings time-honored French grape-growing and oenology techniques to the oldest grape-growing region in China.
