Fund-raising - Tempe, Arizona, United States
The Dominga Sanchez family scholarship was founded in September of 2021 by her son, Leo Sanchez in honor and memory of her selfless love filled life. The inspiration for the scholarship came from Dominga's constant support of her son while working through school. Leo attended the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and graduated from the Master of Real Estate Development Program. As Dominga supported her son through his academic journey, this scholarship will support a student in the W. P. Carey School of Business. In managing the fund, the ASU Foundation will pay on an annual basis to the ASU Beneficiary the board-approved endowment distribution ("Fund Payout") to provide support for a W. P. Carey School of Business student enrolled within the Master of Real Estate Development Program. Leo and his wife Maricela make up the award committee that oversees the review, interview, and awarding processes for applicants to the scholarship. With a commitment to elevate underrepresented individuals in the corporate real estate sector, they seek female applicants from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, in honoring Dominga's memory, Leo and Maricela will search for applicants who most capture Dominga's qualities of fully living, fully loving, and committing to selflessness. The Dominga Sanchez family scholarship seeks to grow over the years through personal contributions and fundraising events. These future events will be shared through https://pitchfunder.asufoundation.org.The scholarship is a legacy project for Leo and Maricela, one day they will pass the torch to their beloved children who will carry forward and elevate the scholarship impact aiding thousands of students for many generations to come.
