The Dutch Domotica Platform (DPN), is a network of different national associations, companies, installers, and builders, among others. The Domotica Platform aims to introduce information and communication technology (ICT) in households and between homes and service providers (Domotica). It established recently an IIP-DSL (ICT Innovationplatform Domotica & Smart Living) in close co-operation with Universities and Universities for Applied Sciences. Topics of this IIP-DSL are the use of generic infrastructures and ICT@Home applications for Healthcare, Energy savings and management, Communication, Entertainment and Security. The main activity of the DPN is identifying trends and challenges in ICT at the residential setting and strategic bridging between different sectors and standards. Important elements of the mission statement of DPN and IIP-DSL are: strategic bridging between different sectors in society, the improvement and innovation of the sustainable quality of life, the efficiency of households and the value of homes.A recent project "One Home Network for All" aims at the convergence of optical and electrical systems in the residential setting into one hybrid home network or eco-system for services from different sectors. In the project "The Virtual House as Living Lab", tools are developed for rapid proto-typing, simulation and co-creation, also for energy management applications.
