Dongfang Modern Agriculture is a debt-free Chinese citrus and camellia producer that is listed on the ASX . We acquire plantations with relatively low productivity in China's best fruit growing region, increase their output and then sell into tier 1 markets at prices that are double those obtainable in rural town and cities. Our earnings last year were A$56m and the prospectus forecast for this year is A$75m ( the current lower A$ would take this over A$80m). We have A$57m in cash and are looking to the ASX listing to fund the acquisition of more plantations. The company is a market leader (No2 in China by revenue with a market share of 1.1%) and intends to become much larger in these highly fragmented markets and capitalise on the rapidly increasing demand for fruit that is being spurred by growing middle classes in China.
