Doors to Dream is a Charleston, South Carolina based non-profit who empowers underserved youth to pursue their dreams with determination and faith, and engages them in helping serve the Charleston community.Doors to Dream envisions one whole and unified Charleston able to overcome the racial and economic barriers that exist in our city and bring healing and connectedness to our citizens.Currently, Doors To Dream is in a transition phase of development as we shift our focus from purely relief work to sustainable support for at-risk youth. Doors To Dream is actively building relationships and developing focus groups with Burke High School personnel, its students, and members of the surrounding community to understand and appropriately create methods and models to bring about lasting change.Within its current focus, Doors To Dream is developing a mentorship program and volunteer opportunities for students to give back through service projects. Doors To Dream is dedicated to providing a safe space for at-risk youth to foster relationships with consistent mentors, learn life skills, and promote an increased sense of agency and worth. Doors to Dream is committed to empowering youth to be a voice for change. Doors To Dream was established in 2017 in Charleston, South Carolina. In its first two years, Doors To Dream provided 16 children suffering from moment-in-time tragedies like cancer or gun violence, with clubhouses of their very own. Through corporate partnerships, community engagement and individual volunteerism, service projects known as the "Clubhouse Challenge" were brought to life. Inspired by these children's stories, Doors To Dream discovered new opportunities to partner with the Charleston community.
