Alcoholic Beverages - Portland, OR, US
There's a magical part of Oregon formed long before recorded time by Ice Age floods. As they raced to the sea, the epic floods carved the Columbia Gorge and left rich deposits of soil on the plateau above. Over the centuries, volcanic eruptions added layers of ash to the land we now know as the Columbia plateau. It was here my great, great Grandfather settled in 1875 - he was one of the first to farm wheat east of the Cascades. Today, the land is still golden with endless waves of wheat, the premier grain for distilling vodka.I am incredibly proud of my family and our heritage. I want to build on that heritage by taking our wheat and crafting spirits. Through 5 generations my family has been growing a variety of grains, primarily soft white wheat. We mill our wheat in a SQF Level II facility then have it distilled in Portland.I didn't want my Vodka to simply be another neutral nose/neutral taste Vodka. We are starting with a high quality raw material with fantastic natural flavors that I wanted to be represented in the product. The result is my Colubmia Plateau Vodka – a welcoming nose, great mouthfeel and incredibly smooth finish. Being grown, crafted, distilled and bottled in Oregon is important to me. Not many products or brands can say that. I have Bourbon and Whiskey in the barrel, planning my first release for early Fall of 2018.Enjoy!Jason J. JohnsonFounder
