Nonprofit Organization Management - Douglas, , Isle of Man
Douglas Development Partnership is a not-for-profit company established as a partnership between Douglas Borough Council and the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce. The Partnership's remit is to work with others to improve the image and environment of Douglas, capital of the Isle of Man. The Partnership was responsible for developing the design concepts for the regeneration of the North Quay and lobbied successfully for funding for regeneration in the town centre. We have co-ordinated the development of design concepts for the town centre regeneration project in association with the Douglas Regeneration Committee. The regeneration schemes are now being delivered by the Department of Infrastructure, Douglas Borough Council and through grant support to property owners. The Partnership also provides a town centre management function for Douglas. 2012 will see the development of an events programme to add further vibrancy to the town centre. Funding for the running of the Partnership is received from Douglas Borough Council and through the subscription of Corporate Members from the private sector. Many of the Isle of Man's leading companies support our work directly as part of their corporate social responsibility strategies through subscription, providing goods and services in kind and participation in projects and events. Please contact us if you wish to join with these companies in taking an active role in further improving Douglas as a place to live, work and visit.
