Dr James Rowe is a Specialist Occupational Physician with over 30 years experience in the field of Occupational Health. Dr Rowe holds a primary degree of MBBS from Melbourne University (1967) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Health (1975) from the University of Sydney.Dr Rowe became a Foundation Fellow of the Australian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 1994 and is registered to practise in Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and Queensland.Following graduation, Dr Rowe worked in Canada as a General Practitioner and as an Occupational Physician for Dofasco, Canada's largest steel company. He then moved to Kwakwani, a small rural village in Guyana, South America, where his practice involved the care of both the local population and the workers in the Reynolds Metals bauxite mine there. He has worked for the Royal Flying Doctor Service out of Gove in the Northern Territory, and in the manganese and bauxite mines of the area.After returning to Australia nearly 30 years ago, his practice evolved into the specialty in Occupational Medicine that it is today.Dr Rowe is an Independent Medical Examiner. He is a WorkCover Trained Assessor of Permanent Impairment for New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, a Worksite Assessor, a Certified AMA impairment Assessor, an Impairment Evaluation Consultant and a Motor Accidents Authority Trained Assessor of Permanent Impairment for New South Wales and Victoria.
