The Atlanta Institute of Medicine and Research was established in 1998 by Dr. Angelo Sambunaris with the intent to conduct excellent quality CNS focused clinical trials. It has since earned that reputation of excellence. As a former pharmaceutical industry insider he is well aware of the issues affecting CNS clinical trials and as the Medical Director and PI he is dedicated to excellence and quality in the clinical trial process. Atlanta Institute of Medicine and Research has two research offices: Marietta Clinic and Dunwoody Clinic, thus providing convenient access to the patient populations living in different parts of the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Our physician and staff are specialized in the research and treatment of psychiatric illnesses to include Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Insomnia. Our experience also includes clinical trials of Treatment Resistant Depression, Atypical Depression, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, Stuttering, ADHD, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, research methodology and validation trials, and human genomic and pharmacokinetic sampling and processing trials. Our clinical research experience includes both small, medium, and large pharmaceutical sponsors: Astra-Zeneca, Cephalon, DOV, Forest Research Institute, GSK, Jazz, Labopharm, Lilly, Merck, Novartis, Otsuka, Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis, Sepracor, Takeda, & Wyeth-Ayerst Research.
