Dreams and nightmares made manifest in digital space. Artist Statement: I believe at some level below and beyond our cognition there is a hypothetical network connecting us all. Not necessarily a literal network, but possibly a copy of that which makes us who we are contained within each of us- and I think that fractally ancestral kinship creates a kind of connectedness analogous to a physical, tangible network. From the Earth we arose through spontaneous order, mutating over time with a purposeful randomness, each of us an extension of the whole, burning until we expire, swallowed back up by the infinite tide of reality. A long time ago I decided that good and evil, light and dark, God and the Devil, whatever you want to call it- I decided it was all just a way for us to abstractly define the different aspects that together compose human experience. They aren't real in the objective sense, they're just labels we made up to help us reconcile the pieces that ultimately define our existence. Art is the language we use to express those pieces, that subliminal network that makes us one, in a way that's honest and raw. I've long been obsessed with tapping into that. Hopefully I'm on the right track.
