OUR STORY - began with a passion for promoting health and wellness, and preventing disease. This led the founder to look at her Caribbean family traditions, some of which resembled those she encountered in her academic journey in Abu Dhabi. After months of discussion, tasting and researching what we know, read, hear, and share, a team of tea lovers, public health professionals and other community members came together to develop Hi-G, a variety of teas and tisanes, herbs and spices with various health benefits. We recognize that tradition, culture and what we know, have a lot to do with our health and well-being...TRADITION - As a child, we watched our families prepare this deliciously refreshing blend of hibiscus, ginger, lemon and spices for any occasion not realizing how this could be of benefit to our health. Hibiscus grew in our yards! Ginger and lemon were readily available at any market, and our kitchen always had a myriad of spices for any dish. As an adult I did not forget this combination, and when my father fell ill, my first inclination was to remove all artificially flavored foods, and prepare our traditional drink so he could feel better...reflecting on all the possible things that contributed to my father's passing, I am convinced that the one thing health care providers neglected most was his nutrition...While I grieve the loss of my father, I am determined to honor him by promoting our Caribbean tradition with natural herbs and spices in the hope that some of you may prevent adverse health events, or help to provide comfort for symptoms that can be avoided without medication but with the combination of naturally and ethically sourced teas, herbs and spices.#blackownedbusiness #blackowned
