The first Drogas store was opened in Riga, Latvia, in 1993 and was the first self-service store in Baltics, which offered new concept of shopping. Drogas started offering absolutely new retail format and begun developing completely new shopping habits. During first 5 years of the company stores were located only in Riga, but after that begun a rapid expansion and new stores were opened in other regions of Latvia.In 2001 first Drogas store was opened in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. By now store chain has gained significant and fast-growing position in the Lithuanian market.In 2004 Drogas joined A.S. Watson Group.Today Drogas is the biggest cosmetics, hygiene and household goods retail chain in Latvia and Lithuania and holds the leading position in its segment. It operates 150 stores in both countries.
