DryTile is a new way to tile. Featuring porcelain floor tiles with a patented, self-adhesive natural cork layer, it is a completely new installation system. Developed in Germany and tested over 7 years, DryTile expanded to Seattle, Washington in early 2018. DryTile seeks to make the tiling process more efficient and sustainable, transforming the tile industry from the inside out. This brand new method of tiling is made possible by the recycled cork layer on the back of the tile. The weight of the tile causes the cork to suction to the ground, eliminating the need for mortar and adhesive. The cork protrudes past the tile and creates its own grout joints that are filled with a proprietary grout developed specifically for DryTile. Prior to grouting, the DryTile surface can be walked on immediately, allowing other trades to work while DryTile is being installed. The whole system makes installation faster and more sustainable than traditional methods.
