Dumpton School, is a co-educational prep day school for children aged 2½ to 13. Just one mile from Wimborne, surrounded by picturesque and tranquil countryside, the 26 acre campus is centred on a 19th century farmhouse and stable block, while extensive playing fields and woodland walks complement the first rate classroom areas and sports facilities, including a floodlit synthetic all-weather pitch and covered swimming pool. Despite record numbers in the school, class sizes are small. Children enjoy excellent committed teaching as well as incomparable opportunities for Music, Art, Drama and Sport in which the school excels. Dumpton is renowned for its caring approach in which every child is encouraged to identify and develop his or her abilities and personal qualities as fully as possible. Over the past six years Dumpton pupils have been awarded over 144 scholarships to schools such as Bryanston, Canford, Clayesmore, Millfield, Talbot Heath and Sherborne.The Good Schools Guide says 'Dumpton's the perfect size; small enough to have a real family atmosphere and big enough to have proper teams, plays and music.
