Concrete/Cement - St. Petersburg, FL, US
The Duncan McClellan Gallery, located in the Warehouse Arts District of St. Petersburg, FL., is a transformed 7,800 square foot old fish & then tomato packing plant where Duncan lives, works & entertains. Duncan hosts private individual and corporate events as well as events for local non-profits. In fact over the past 24 years, the gallery has benefited charities and cultural institutions in excess of $500,000. The gallery in itself is a work of art with a custom bar, etched glass shower doors, fruit trees & a gorgeous patio area. Duncan has a permanent display of his own sand blasted blown glass which depicts emotions relating to family, personal growth and the spiritual connections between each of us as souls. Duncan's focus in building his gallery in St. Pete was to exhibit local and internationally known artists, raising the bar of expectation and help in creating and exposing a unique arts community that will be nationally recognized. He passionately believes that St. Pete is a unique community that fosters development, understands and is aware of the art's economic and cultural impact. The gallery sponsors a monthly event which brings in about 400-500 visitors each second Saturday of the month as part of St. Pete's Second Saturday Artwalk. Each second Saturday has a new theme highlighting several artists not only in various disciplines of glass but also includes artists in mediums such as clay, metal, painting, jewelry, etc.
