Duo Roldán was born in Milwaukee in the Springof 2005. Its founders Ana Ruth Bermudez, andRene Izquierdo are native Cubans who studiedat the "Amadeo Roldán" Conservatory of Music inHabana, Cuba, hence the duo's name in honor ofthe great Cuban musician. After many years out of their homeland, these twogifted musicians found each other in Milwaukee,where they began to collaborate and perform,always inspired by their cultural identity, theirnatural ability to complement each other musically,and their willingness to bring to the stage a vastrepertoire of classical and Latin American pieces.
