Durban Youth Council is the ultimate youth organisation in Durban. Over 55 years old, it has a present membership of 30 schools and is constantly growing. We are a non-profit and a-political organisation that aims at uplifting the lifestyle of Durban and in particular our youth. Our vibrantly futuristic team is all for the youth.DYC gives us, the youth, an opportunity to incorporate funky yet sophisticated ideas that we are forever dedicated to put into play. The council is a highly disciplined forum where the youth express their views on global affairs and work together at forming resolutions, which will improve the situation. We do not stop there! The DYC goes out to the people of Durban in raising awareness on issues like HIV/AIDS and Human Rights. We promote the integration of cultures amongst the youth. The heart and soul of DYC goes to serving the community in the form of drives & assistance in maintaining areas where it is greatly needed. DYC is a whole new safe social life for the youth. We are always meeting fascinating youth from diverse backgrounds and creating new bonds of friendship wherever we go. We, for the youth, by the youth, are junior Councillors' inspired to go on doing our magnificent missions every time we are awarded with a smile of satisfaction on the face of a stranger.
