Environmental Services - Eagle, Colorado, United States
Conservation Districts were established to provide local leadership in natural resource management. The Eagle County Conservation District (ECCD) serves as a link between federal, state and local resources with farmers, ranchers and forest stewards. Our main purpose is to educate, represent and advocate for private landowners and water rights holders within the Eagle County boundary. In working more closely with the community and partnering with local organizations, we can work together to protect, restore and enhance the conservation management of water, soil and air for our landowners.ECCD is a branch of the State Government created under the "Colorado Soil Conservation Act". We are a focal point for coordinating and delivering technical and financial assistance to our respective communities to improve water, soil and air quality, prevent erosion, restore wetlands, and enhance wildlife. We represent the principle that farmers, ranchers and forest stewards know their land better than anyone else based on their personal knowledge and experience with those lands. Therefore, it is also our responsibility to build and strengthen relationships with new and existing partners with knowledge, tools and resources available to them.
