East Africa Association of Grantmakers (EAAG) is a voluntary regional membership organization established in 2003 to nurture and promote local philanthropy. It brings together local charitable Trusts and Foundations in East Africa drawn from Family Trusts, Community Foundations, Corporate Foundations, Private Foundations and other types of Grantmaking and non- grantmaking organizations interested in promoting philanthropy. The association key programmatic areas are founded on convening and knowledge management through research, learning & sharing platforms; and advocacy for legislative and policy reforms. Currently the Association has 28 members across the region consisting of corporate foundations, community foundations, family foundations among other private foundations. Notable members include the KCDF, Safaricom Foundation, Chandaria Foundation, Kabaka Foundation, Foundation for Civil Societies in Tanzania, Rwanda Development Organization etc.
