Internet - Berlin, Berlin, Germany
ECIX was founded in 2001. We are Germany's second largest IXP, both by membership and traffic, and one of the largest IXPs in Europe. ECIX is fully specialised in peering. Access providers, content networks, hosting providers and carriers have all been exchanging traffic over our neutral infrastructure for over 15 years. Over 150 different parties are connected and our peak traffic regularly exceeds 1Tb/s. In August 2016, ECIX was acquired by Megaport, growing our reach significantly and broadening our service offering. ECIX operates carrier neutral peering through IXPs in 25 sites across five cities: Berlin, Munich, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Hamburg. In addition, we provide our customers with remote peering between ECIX locations as well as in and to Amsterdam, Luxembourg and Nuremberg. Our platforms offer a number of value-added services. These are provided by ECIX itself, as well as in cooperation with partners. MPLS-based L2 Transport for public peering, private peering and site interconnection are available between all sites in all cities.
