The L.O.V.E. Is The Answer movement was birthed out of the success of the award-winning film, WALKING WHILE BLACK: L.O.V.E. Is The Answer, in improving relations between police and people of color (www.WalkingWhileBlack.com). More than 45,000 people in all 50 states have participated in film screenings, discussions, workshops, conferences and other gatherings focused on teaching the L.O.V.E. Is The Answer principles. Law enforcement agencies, social justice nonprofits, middle and high schools, community colleges, universities, churches, libraries and other groups are licensing our film and utilizing our healing programs. The L.O.V.E. Is The Answer principles modeled in the film have even become a pledge that people are taking around the world. The L.O.V.E. Is The Answer Pledge goes as follows:I pledge to LEARN about the people in my community, to unconditionally OPEN my heart to their needs as if they were all immediate family members, to VOLUNTEER to be part of the solution in their life during both good and challenging times, and to EMPOWER everyone I meet to do the same as if our lives depended on each other. The L.O.V.E. Is The Answer principles can be applied to virtually any issue, from improving police-community relations, to improving customer service, to ending homelessness, to developing solutions to the opioid epidemic, to improving marriages, to teaching anti-racism, and more. They are time tested, proven action steps that lead to transformation in hearts and in communities. SAVE THE DATE: The 3rd "National Day of Reconciliation" will take place September 17, 2021. This nationwide event is a massive reset button to improve police-community relations and teach anti-racism throughout America. Our goal for the 2021 National Day of Reconciliation is 100,000 students, peace officers and other community members to participate in this incredible day together.
