The Edenton Steamers are a summer collegiate baseball team located in Edenton, NC. The Steamers have been bringing family friendly entertainment to the area since 1998. The organization strives to make everyone's experience at Historic Hicks Field a memorable one. The team is owned by a community based non-profit organization, the Edenton-Chowan Community Foundation. This is a unique ownership structure that is shared with only a handful of MiLB teams, as well as the Green Bay Packers of the NFL. This has led to an intimate relationship between the Edenton residents and the organization over its 20+ years of operation. The Steamers look forward to entertaining fans of all ages each summer. Their historic ballpark allows fans to take a step back in time and enjoy the game from a historic perspective. Historic Hicks Field is home to the last wooden grandstand in North Carolina, a large manual scoreboard, and original dugouts from the 1940s. This is not only a great place to watch a ballgame, but a destination for historic baseball lovers.
