Edge was established in 2016 as a Special Purpose Vehicle in promoting Open Access, Smart City, Smart Home and Passive Optical LAN networks across South Africa. The various national fibre and Smart City deployments are done on a BOM (Build, Operate and Maintain) basis. Edge is Supported by Nokia as a strategic partner from both a Technology and resource perspective.
