ECCI is a hub for the knowledge, innovation and skills required to create a low carbon economy. Located in Edinburgh, Scotland's political centre and capital city, and building upon the best ideas from around the world, the ECCI provides the place and space for ‘low carbon leaders' and networks from business, finance and the public sector to work together to deliver a low carbon future. Hosted by the University of Edinburgh, in partnership with Heriot-Watt University and Edinburgh Napier University, the Edinburgh Centre creates a unique platform for supporting Government policy implementation; enhancing business enterprise and innovation; and delivering professional skills training. Within the hub, the ECCI has three clear functions: Enterprise & Innovation: Supporting business to develop innovative low carbon products, services and resource efficiencies and working with low carbon business clusters in finance, accounting, ICT and carbon management. Skills & Learning: Delivering executive training and education to equip private and public sector leaders and innovators with the skills required to succeed in the low carbon economy. Policy Interface: Joint managing ClimateXChange – Scotland's Centre of Expertise on Climate Change, which provides independent, authoritative advice to Government policy teams and public agencies to support low carbon & climate policy.
